Consumer Units
Assessment and replacement of domestic consumer units where an upgrade is appropriate for the installation and planned work.
EnquireMorden · SM4
For a home in SM4, several focused improvements can often be considered as one coordinated enquiry. List the consumer unit, accessories and lighting changes together so checks, access and testing are not planned in isolation.
Grouped home improvements
A room schedule and photographs can reveal where work overlaps. The final quotation should still distinguish each included circuit, accessory or fitting and state the relevant testing and documentation.

EnquireSM4 building stock
Morden is overwhelmingly interwar suburban housing. A large part of SM4 falls within or adjoins the St Helier Estate, one of the biggest cottage estates built in the 1930s, and the surrounding streets follow the same pattern of semi-detached and short-terraced houses with front and rear gardens.
Housing of this age and consistency produces consistent electrical questions: the original installation is long gone, the replacement is now itself ageing, and the board is usually the oldest surviving part of the system.
Consistent layouts mean consistent issues — limited original socket provision extended over the years, boards from a previous generation, and main bonding that predates current expectations.
A rewire done in the 1970s or 1980s is not automatically due for replacement, but it will predate RCD protection and probably predate the current cable colours. Testing separates what is serviceable from what is not.
Most properties have a driveway or the space for one, making home car charging practical. Supply capacity and the earthing arrangement are assessed before a chargepoint is specified.
Rear extensions, garage conversions and garden rooms are common here and all add load. Whether the existing supply and board can carry the addition should be established at design stage.
